The European Nations League is the second title that France has won in 3 years, after winning the 2018 World Cup in Russia
France won the European Football Championship for the first time in its history, after another historic "Remontada" in his career in the tournament, by beating Spain 2-1 in the final match of the continental competition.
After overturning a two-goal deficit in front of his Belgian counterpart to a 3-2 victory in the semi-finals of the tournament last Thursday, the French team returned to compensate for its delay with a clean goal against his Spanish counterpart, signed by Mikel Oyarzabal (64).
Karim Benzema equalized for France (66) from the industry of Kylian Mbappe, before Mbappe himself added the second goal (80).
This became the second title that France crowned in 3 years, after it crowned the 2018 World Cup in Russia at the expense of the Croatian team in the final, to bring the "roosters" smile back to the faces of their fans after the disappointment they suffered after their early exit from the World Cup. European Nations (Euro 2020) lost to Switzerland on penalties in the round of 16 of the tournament.
And this became the first victory for the French national team in official confrontations with its Spanish counterpart in more than 15 years, as its last victory over the “Matador” team dates back to June 2006, when it beat it 3-1 in the World Cup final in Germany.
On the other hand, this loss comes to double the sorrows of the Spanish fans, who felt frustrated after the team was eliminated from the semi-finals of "Euro 2020" at the hands of the Italian team on penalties.
