Ronaldo leads Portugal to victory over Qatar and England sweeps Andorra

Cristiano Ronaldo cemented his top scorer list in international soccer matches, reaching 112 goals in Portugal's 3-0 victory over Qatar on Saturday, while England swept Andorra 5-0 in Group I in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ronaldo missed an easy opportunity with his left foot, before taking advantage of a defensive error minutes later to remove a cross, and scored from close range the first goal for his country in the 37th minute.

Jose Fonte added the second goal after he followed up a rebound header from goalkeeper Saad Al-Sheeb in the 48th minute, and Andre Silva concluded Portugal's goals with a powerful header from close range in the last minute.

Portugal dominated from start to finish, depriving Qatar of creating chances over the two halves.

The result of the match is not added to the score, as the goal is to give the Qatari team the necessary friction before hosting the World Cup next year.

England sweep Andorra
England took another step towards securing qualification for the World Cup, after winning 5-0 against its host Andorra in Group I, on Saturday.

As in the 4-0 win at Wembley last month, the difference was clear, and the nets were scored by: Ben Chilwell, Bukayo Sacco, Tammy Abraham, James Ward-Prowse and Jack Grealish.

Andorra contented itself with defending in its national stadium, but could not match the squad of coach Gareth Southgate, who witnessed many changes, as England won their sixth victory in seven matches.

England has 19 points, 4 points ahead of Albania and 5 points over Poland.

Chilwell opened the scoring in the 17th minute, scoring his first ever goal for England, and Saka added the second goal near the end of the first half.

Abraham scored - in his first starting lineup in 4 years - before Ward-Prowse missed a penalty kick to rebound to him and put it in the goal in the 79th minute.

Substitute Grealish finished the quintet, scoring his first international goal.
