'Getting away from BJP is a big freedom since 1947, because: Mehbooba Mufti's 'entry' in UP elections Mehbooba Mufti said, "Assembly elections are being held in Uttar Pradesh, so BJP is remembering Aurangzeb and Babar." The bugle of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election (UP Election 2022) has been blown. Meanwhile, the war of words and accusations and counter-allegations between the leaders of the government and the opposition have also intensified. Mehbooba Mufti, the Chief of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has launched a scathing attack on the BJP. "Getting rid of this party in Uttar Pradesh will be a great freedom since 1947 because BJP wants to divide the country," he said. Addressing the PDP's Adivasi Yuva Sammelan, Mehbooba Mufti said on Monday, "As Assembly elections are being held in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is remembering Aurangzeb and Babar. Today, we have got an opportunity to get rid of the BJP. India's independence in 1947 will be a bigger freedom because they (BJP) are bent on dividing the country." Targeting the BJP, he said that if they promise development of the state, then show development in Uttar Pradesh. "They (BJP) are giving jobs and land to outsiders and then claim that this will lead to development in the state. I tell them to show development in Uttar Pradesh. They cannot provide hospitals in UP," Mufti said. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in five states. Polling will be held in seven phases for a total of 403 seats in UP. Under these phases, voting will be held on February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7. The results will come on March 10.
