Minister of Communication and Information: MotoGP Mandalika, showcase of the Indonesian sports industry

Jakarta - The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G.Plate said that the Mandalika MotoGP is a showcase for the sports industry in Indonesia, so he invited the mass media to make the international level racing event a success which will be held on March 18-20 2022.

"MotoGP Mandalika is an Indonesian storefront in the sports industry . Both domestic and foreign storefronts. For that, we need a key message that is our concern for communication to the domestic community and to MotoGP fans around the world," he said at the 2022 MotoGP Media Coverage Coordination Forum which took place online from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Office, Central Jakarta, Friday.

He stated that MotoGP has many fans around the world, both millennials, celebrities, even according to him in Indonesia and abroad the names of MotoGP racers are also very well known.

Therefore, the Mandalika MotoGP deserves to be considered a historic moment and a showcase for Indonesia in the eyes of the world.

“We have to maintain this momentum well. Therefore, it is also important for us to pay attention to the key messages related to the readiness of the circuit infrastructure itself and readiness in the transportation sector," he explained.

The Minister of Communication and Information emphasized the importance of working together with all parties in preparing all needs on all fronts, including telecommunication traffic which has a very high potential around the circuit.

He also claims to have ensured the bandwidthaddition to provide a pleasant communication experience for visitors in the Mandalika area during MotoGP.

Of course, he also hopes that the media can raise the application of health protocols and a clean and healthy lifestyle to be one of the programs that will be maintained in this international sporting event.

By maintaining strict health protocols, Minister Johnny hopes to make tourists feel comfortable.

“The health aspect must be seriously considered. Not only COVID-19, (Indonesia as a tropical country) so all kinds of tropical diseases will also be our concern. Don't let them (foreign tourists) come back with diarrhea," said Johnny.

Free Fire 2022 international tournament will be held on Sentosa Island

This international tournament is a tangible manifestation of Garena Free Fire's efforts in providing an attractive competition platform for the gamer community around the world

Jakarta - The Free Fire World Series 2022 (FFWS 2022) international tournament will be held in May 2022 on Sentosa Island, Singapore.

In a written statement received Monday, the developer and publisher of Free Fire, Garena, explained that the Play-Ins round will be held on May 14, and the Final round on May 21.

"This international tournament is a tangible manifestation of Garena Free Fire's efforts in providing an attractive competition platform for the gamer community around the world," Garena wrote.

Garena also said that he would ensure that FFWS 2022 will be held in accordance with public health protocols and applicable travel policies.

FFWS 2022 Sentosa will bring together 22 teams from 13 regions with a chance to be crowned world champions. The Play-ins Round will feature 12 teams battling for a place in the Finals the following week.

The top two teams from the Play-ins round will join the 10 teams in the Finals and form 12 teams that will compete to be the final winners of the FFWS 2022 Sentosa tournament.

All teams will fight for six rounds -- across three maps -- to be victorious. Points will be awarded based on the rank of the round and the number of kills.

Free Fire was named the "Esports Mobile Game of the Year" by the 2021 Esports Awards in November 2021, which is the second year in a row Free Fire has won the award.

This award was given to the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore (FFWS 2021 SG) which won a record with the highest number of viewership on various platforms.

According to Esports Charts, the FFWS 2021 SG final reached a peak of 5.4 million simultaneous online viewers, which is the record for the most online viewership of any esports match in history, excluding Chinese platforms.
