The statement pointed out that "the evaluation of the production that was conducted on the well showed oil and associated gas, with flow rates of 5094 barrels / day of oil, and 185.58 thousand cubic meters per day of gas."  The statement explained that this result allowed to raise the volume of reserves in the relevant patch to 961 million barrels, with the well discovered in (Aqla al-Nasser) contributing reserves of 415 million barrels.  He pointed out that Sonatrach confirms with this discovery the important oil potential of the Touggourt region (southeast), and intends to accelerate the development of this pole to increase Algerian production.  According to the same statement, Sonatrach made another discovery this month in the Awlad Sayed Al-Sheikh area in the state of El-Beidh (southwest).  The production evaluation of the discovered well showed crude oil and associated gas, with flow rates of 925 barrels of oil per day, and 6456 cubic meters of gas per day.  On March 20, Sonatrach announced an oil discovery with its Italian partner, Eni, with reserves estimated at 140 million barrels, in the vicinity of the Zamla El-Arabi exploration located in the Berkine Basin (southeast).  Sonatrach explained that the drilling process showed an important discovery of crude oil during the production testing phase, estimated at 7,000 barrels per day, and 140,000 cubic meters per day of gas.
