The Turkish "Cargo"a suicide march that chases the enemy inside the buildings and blows itself up

With the same momentum with which Turkey entered the world of manufacturing drones for military uses, it has taken tangible steps in the production and development of suicide drones.

Recently, the Defense Industries Organization of the Turkish Presidency announced the delivery of a new batch of "KARGU" suicide marches to the Turkish Armed Forces.

In a tweet to him on his Twitter account, the head of the authority, Ismail Demir, published pictures of Kargo drones manufactured by the Turkish company STM for Defense Technology Engineering and Trade.

Demir emphasized that these suicide marches are superior in many features to their counterparts around the world, noting that the manufacturer of Cargo recently enhanced its capabilities for longer flight periods, altitude, speed and low sound level, as well as enhancing the aspects related to artificial intelligence of the march.

Kargu is a Turkish word meaning the watchtower at the top of the mountain, or the falcon.

Features of Cargo

According to Turkish reports and data from the Defense Industries Organization, the Kargo suicide bomber aircraft has the following specifications:

The ability to cancel the mission, return to its starting position, as well as detonate itself, and it can also rise and destroy itself to prevent it from falling into the hands of the enemy in the event that its energy is insufficient to return to the control position, and attack the target.

- It has the ability to support the security forces in their operations in residential areas, where they penetrate into buildings or caves, and neutralize the required targets.

The plane can carry 3 types of explosives, weighing up to 1.5 kilograms, according to the needs of the security forces in their various operations.

Equipped with helicopters, weighing 6.3 kilograms, reaching a speed of 72 kilometers per hour, and flying at an altitude of 1,000 meters.

It has 4 rotating wings, it can be carried by one person in both independent and manual modes.

This drone can be used to operate both day and night to hit both stationary and moving targets, thanks to its capabilities to process original images in real time by utilizing a system of machine learning algorithms built into the platform.

It can stay in the air for 30 minutes, and it takes only 45 seconds to prepare the plane for take off, and it is controlled through closed digital communication channels.

- The General Director of the Defense Equipment Technology Engineering Company Davut Yilmaz confirmed that the Cargo planes are a new addition to the military forces, and they constitute an element of surprise to the enemy, and what encourages Ankara to move forward in developing these planes is the great interest from all over the world in our planes.

Yilmaz pointed out that the Cargo plane was developed by providing it with a new type of high explosive, indicating that this type of aircraft will be displayed at the Eurasia Air Show.

The suicide "march"

In addition to the Cargo March, Turkey produces various models of suicide planes, most notably:

ALPAGU: This model has a fixed wing, and is used in reconnaissance and surveillance missions, as well as being used to hit targets outside the line of sight with high accuracy, and it is light in weight (2 kg) that can be carried by one soldier, and it can work in Standalone or by remote control.

This drone can carry a warhead weighing between 1.3 kg and 3.15 kg at a range of 5 km and at an altitude of 400 feet, and it has the ability to stay in the air for 10 minutes at a maximum speed of 65 knots. It also contains a smart wing-fixed munition system, a launcher, as well as a ground control station.

TOGAN has helicopter wings, has the ability to schedule its own jobs, and has the ability to move and monitor the smallest details through its cameras. It is also characterized by the ability to bring objects closer to 30 times, and it can identify fixed and moving risks with high accuracy during the day and at night.

Togan can fly at an altitude of 1,000 meters, and has a speed of 72 kilometers per hour, and can stay in the air for 40 minutes. It weighs 7.5 kilograms, and takes 45 seconds to prepare for launch - like all its counterparts.

Air force

Turkish drones played a prominent role in enhancing Turkey’s military position, after it achieved great success and reputation in the military operations in which it was used, within the framework of the advanced technological shift that Ankara achieved by moving from an importing country for military needs to an exporting country, especially in field of the aviation sector.

Among the offensive marches produced by Turkey are "Akinci" and "Ak Sungur", as well as "Bayraktar TB1", "Bayraktar TB2" and "Phoenix".

The project to produce the armed drone "Bayraktar TB3" began at a time when the conceptual design of the MİUS fighter was completed.

The third prototype of the domestic helicopter "Gok Be" has successfully completed its first flight test, while the delivery of the second stage of the attack helicopter "Attack" continues.

The Turkish Defense Industries handed over to the Naval Forces Command 3 P-72 patrol planes within the framework of the Meltem-3 project.

The flight tests of the experimental missile developed with hybrid engine technology have been successfully conducted, and the establishment of a test and evaluation center for unmanned aircraft systems has been launched in Qalakık district in the capital, Ankara.

In the field of electronic systems, the delivery of cameras of the CATS imaging system used in armed marches, and the new generation "Sanjak" electronic attack system, continued.

On the other hand, Turkish defense industry exports achieved new records over the year 2021, exceeding $3 billion in volume.

An agreement was signed with Poland to export "Bayraktar TB2" drones, which is the first agreement of its kind to export Turkish drones to a member state of the European Union and NATO.
