MotoGP releases 2023 pre-season test schedule, Portimao replaces Mandalika  Jakarta (ANTARA) - MotoGP on Monday released a provisional schedule for the 2023 pre-season test, but this time there was no slot for the Mandalika Circuit.  The highway circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara was honored as the 2022 pre-season test arena during last February before hosting the MotoGP race in March.  Instead, MotoGP will hold a test at the Algarve Circuit, Portimao, Portugal, on March 11-12, one month after the Sepang International Circuit will hold its first test next year on March 10-12.  Sepang will also be the arena for the Shakedown Test, specifically for MotoGP factory test riders and rookie riders on February 5-7.  Pre-season tests for the Moto2 and Moto3 classes will also take place in Portimao.  The selection of Portimao is in line with the 2023 season calendar which will open at the Portuguese circuit on March 24-26, instead of Qatar, which has been the opening race of the season since 2007.
