Ahmed Jibril, the ambulance and emergency official in the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, said that the young Wassim Nasr Khalifa (18 years), "was martyred by the Israeli army's bullets at dawn on Thursday, as a result of being hit by a direct bullet in the heart during confrontations in the city of Nablus late on Wednesday night," according to the Anatolia Agency. For its part, the Jenin Brigades, an armed group affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, announced, in a series of press releases, that Israeli forces were shot dead in the vicinity of Joseph's Tomb. Settlers frequently storm the city of Nablus to perform prayers in the "Tomb of Joseph", under the guard of the Israeli army, to perform Jewish religious rituals, because they believe that it is the tomb of the Prophet Joseph, peace be upon him. The Palestinians deny the validity of this, and say that the age of the tomb does not exceed 200 years, and that it belonged to a Muslim man who lived in the area in the past, called Youssef Dweikat.
