"South Africa is one of the countries that attaches special importance to innovations in the defense industry, especially armored vehicles, and our country is open to cooperation with Ankara," Mavuania added.  He pointed out that the equipment and technologies produced by the Turkish defense industries are commensurate with the needs of his country.  Mavwani pointed out that there is a real joint work between South African companies working in the field of defense industries and their counterparts in Turkey, and that this joint work contributes to pushing forward cooperation opportunities to meet the needs in both countries.  He pointed out that the South African Navy, which is one of the most advanced naval forces in Africa, is equipped with locally-made equipment and technologies, and that Pretoria is also aware of the level of development achieved by the Turkish naval industries.  Mavuania stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of maritime industries, and said, "We have similar technologies, and we can work together to develop our industries forward."
