This came in a speech he delivered, on Saturday, during his participation in the inauguration ceremony of a factory for the production of solar panels in the Organized Industrial Zone in the state of Qirikkale in central Turkey.  "Turkey is currently the third largest producer of solar panels in the world," Varank said. "We are currently producing about 8 gigawatts of solar panels."  The Turkish minister added: "Our goal, God willing, is to be in second place in the world, starting next year."
