Team India was at number-1 in the rankings in the afternoon of February 15 and in the evening when the ICC shared the updated rankings, the Indian team appeared at number-2, which is now surprising everyone.   In the afternoon of 15th, Team India's rating was 115 and Team India was at number-1 position and Australia was at number-2 with 111 rating.   By evening, Australia has reached number-1 position with 126 ratings and Team India has again come at number two with 115 ratings.  Team India has achieved number-1 Test ranking 3 times so far .  Team India first reached the number-1 position in the Test rankings in 1973. After which Team India had to wait a long time to return to the first position, but then in the year 2009, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and then in the year 2016, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Team India reached the top of the Test rankings.  Team India is currently playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series with Australia, whose next match will be on February 17.
