Four people died in an avalanche in the French Alps The French Ministry of the Interior announced that 4 people were killed in an avalanche in the Alps in France that exceeded a thousand meters in length, while rescue teams continue to search for survivors. "The death toll is likely to rise," Darmanin added, while rescuers continue to search for survivors, according to the same source.   The local France-Bleu radio station estimated the size of the avalanche as 1,000 meters long and 100 meters wide.  The relevant authorities also sent two helicopters to assist in the search.  For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed, in a statement, his sympathy for the victims and their families.  "Emergency services have been mobilized with the aim of finding people still trapped under the snow," he added.  The Alps are a major center for the long Easter weekend in France.
