ISS revolves around the earth, while doing so its speed is more than 27580 km per hour.  Due to this speed, it completes one revolution of the earth in just 90 minutes.  That's why day and night happen so quickly here. 

The special thing is that when sunlight falls on the ISS, its temperature reaches up to 121 degree Celsius, which can turn to ashes in a jiffy.  When it goes behind the earth, the temperature here becomes -157 degree Celsius.

According to a NASA report, the sudden rise and fall of temperature does not affect astronauts, because the temperature inside the space station is not much affected. Their space suits are designed in such a way that they can tolerate the temperature.
