Gaza and Palestine were in strong presence on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Wednesday, in both Jordan and Morocco, where Jordanians demonstrated near the Israeli embassy in the capital, Amman, to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip. Thousands of Moroccans also participated in the city of Tangier in a solidarity march with Gaza.

Palestine and Gaza vigorously attended the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Wednesday, in Jordan, where Jordanians demonstrated near the Israeli embassy in the capital, Amman, to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

After completing Eid al-Fitr prayers, the Jordanians demonstrated near the Israeli embassy, raising slogans demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and holding Israel accountable for its aggression against the Palestinians 6 months ago.

The rain falling prevented Eid prayers from being held in the outdoor squares, so the Jordanians held them in chapels and mosques designated by the Ministry of Endowments.

In the Al-Husseini Mosque in the capital, Amman, the Minister of Endowments, Muhammad Al-Khalayleh, said in the sermon: “Our souls are aroused by what is happening to our people in Gaza, and the humanitarian catastrophe that is occurring by all standards.”

He added: "What is happening to our people in Gaza is killing, displacement, great cruelty and tribulations. We can be with them on this day in our hearts."

He continued: "Just as we live here, we live there (in Gaza) with our souls, hearts, and eyes, with our family and brothers in Gaza."

In Morocco, thousands of Moroccans participated in the city of Tangier (north), on Tuesday evening, in a solidarity march with the Gaza Strip.

The participants chanted slogans demanding the protection of civilians in Gaza, and preventing Israel from displacing Palestinians from the Strip, where about 2.3 million people live.

The protesters, in the march called by the “Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalization” (Ahlia), condemned “the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.”

Among their chants were: “Decorate with the keffiyeh our holiday is Palestinian,” “In the month of Shawwal the occupation will be defeated,” “We congratulate Gaza and your Eid is the Eid of Pride,” and “Congratulations on your Eid, men... and there is no consolation for the occupation.”

On an almost daily basis, Moroccan cities, including the capital, Rabat, witness massive vigils in solidarity with the Palestinian people, and to demand an end to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, and the lifting of the siege and the entry of humanitarian aid.

The Israeli war on Gaza left more than one hundred thousand martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

Israel continues the war despite the Security Council issuing an immediate ceasefire resolution, and despite its first appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing "genocide."

The leader of the Afghan Taliban issues a statement in 7 languages after an audio recording and flogging and stoning of women and men

On Saturday, in a statement, the leader of the Afghan Taliban movement, Hibatullah Akhundzada, called on officials in the movement to put aside their differences and devote themselves to serving their country, as Eid al-Fitr approaches.

It seems that public opposition within the Taliban is unlikely, but some leaders in the movement have shown dissatisfaction with decisions taken by the leadership, especially the ban on female education.

Akhundzada, a reclusive leader who rarely leaves the Taliban stronghold in Kandahar province in the south of the country, and never appears in public, has played a major role in imposing restrictions on women and girls, sparking international outrage and isolating the Taliban on the global stage.

Akhundzada's message was distributed in seven languages, including Uzbek and Turkmen, and is an attempt by the Taliban to court the rich Central Asian countries for investment, and to give legitimacy to the country's rule.
