During the record-high temperature in Magway, around four people die each day due to heatstroke, social aid workers told RFA on April 29.

An official of the Myanmar Social Relief Organization of Kayak City told RFA that the temperature in Kayak City ranges from a minimum of 45 degrees Celsius to 47 degrees Celsius, leading to the death of elderly people and those with disease.

"Deaths due to heat often occur in elderly people over 75 and 80. It's too hot. The daily death rate is about four. Among the four, three of the older ones, one of the younger ones. On average, about one in four people die.”

Relief workers said that about 150 people have died in the month and a half since the second week of March, when the temperature rose in Magway and Mandalay, including the city of Kayak.

Those who are helping said that the Health Department has issued an order for residents not to bathe on the banks of the river between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

As social support groups, the elderly are taken to hospitals, He said that while helping to get to the clinic on time, he also provides first aid and health care at home.

According to the Eldorado Weather website, which publishes global temperature and rainfall measurements, at 11:30 p.m. on April 28, Caen City is the highest temperature in the world at 48.2 degrees Celsius.

In Mandalay, there have been deaths due to heatstroke in the past few days, and in April, about ten patients were transported to Mandalay Hospital, and half of them died, the Manisala Social Assistance Association told RFA.
