Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed, on Thursday, Palestine's right to full membership in the United Nations, noting that his country demands an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

During the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, Xi said that the war in Gaza cannot continue indefinitely, justice cannot remain absent forever, and the two-state solution cannot be arbitrarily overthrown.

Beijing has repeatedly called for a two-state solution to put an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and also demands an immediate ceasefire and membership for the Palestinians in the United Nations, positions that are closely consistent with the positions of Arab countries.

In his speech, delivered in the presence of the leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, the UAE and Tunisia, in addition to the foreign ministers of other Arab League member states, Xi stressed that China will continue to provide support with the aim of alleviating the burden of the humanitarian crisis, as well as supporting post-war reconstruction in Gaza.

On the other hand, the Chinese President said that Beijing wants to strengthen its relations with Arab countries to be a model for global peace and stability.

State media quoted Xi as saying that China is ready to work with Arab countries to resolve issues related to hotspots in ways that are conducive to upholding the principles of fairness and justice and achieving long-term peace and stability.

He added that China will host the second summit between China and the Arab countries in 2026, and that it looks forward to enhancing cooperation with the Arab side in several areas, including building a broader investment and financial horizon and deepening cooperation in the field of energy.
