The US Army announced that 4 ships belonging to the US Central Command "Centcom", which were off the shores of Gaza to support the construction of the floating dock, ran aground due to a sea current.

Centcom said in a statement that the four ships anchored off the shores of Gaza were affected by a sea storm and drifted with the sea current.

According to the statement, the current swept two ships onto Israeli shores, while the other two ships docked in an area close to the floating dock.

He stated that the floating dock maintains all its functions, and that Israeli army forces provided their support.

Earlier on Saturday, the Hebrew Channel 12 revealed that part of the American floating pier on the coast of the Gaza Strip had separated and reached the shore of the Israeli city of Ashdod due to strong waves.

On May 16, Centcom announced the completion of the construction of the floating pier on the shores of the Gaza Strip.

She explained at the time, "It is expected that humanitarian aid trucks will begin moving to the beach in the coming days, where the United Nations will receive the aid and coordinate its distribution in Gaza."

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffer from a severe scarcity of food, water and medicine supplies, to the point where deaths from hunger have been recorded.

The crossing of aid through the Rafah crossing stopped after the Israeli army took control of the Palestinian side of it on May 7, while Israel closed the Kerem Shalom crossing to the entry of aid on the fifth of the same month.

In light of this situation, the naval pier established by the United States off the shores of Gaza has become the only corridor for the movement of aid into the Strip, since May 17, but only limited amounts of aid entered through it until Saturday.
