The US Army announced the reinstallation of the temporary floating dock off the coast of Gaza, to continue transporting relief aid to the besieged Palestinian Strip.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement today, Friday: “At approximately 2:15 p.m. (Gaza time) on June 7, we succeeded in reconstructing the temporary pier in Gaza, which collapsed amid the rough waves late last month.” .

The statement added, "The reconstruction of the pier will allow the continued delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza."

Centcom indicated that it would "work in the coming days to facilitate the movement of vital food and other emergency supplies."

On May 17, Centcom announced the opening of the pier on the coast of Gaza, but it quickly collapsed due to the waves after a week of operation, and parts of it separated and reached the shore of the city of Ashdod.

Palestinian circles say that the purpose of establishing the floating dock is to “serve the hidden political interests” of Israel and the United States, contrary to what Washington and Tel Aviv portray as a “humanitarian step.”
