Yesterday, Saturday, thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the White House in Washington, DC, to demand that President Joe Biden’s administration “adhere to its red line regarding Gaza,” in a demonstration that is considered one of the largest demonstrations denouncing the recent Israeli aggression against Gaza.
Palestinians and Arab Americans, in addition to other American groups, anti-Zionist Jews, and groups of ethnic and religious backgrounds, participated in the demonstration, which was organized under the slogan “Genocide is our red line.” The crowd chanted slogans such as “No to genocide in Gaza,” “Stop the occupation,” “Freedom for Palestine,” and “Biden, stop lying,” carrying banners demanding a ceasefire.
Speaking during the demonstration to protest the recent Israeli attacks, the organizers stressed that the American administration must immediately stop sending weapons to Israel and play its role in an immediate ceasefire.
In the demonstration in which thousands of people participated, a large human chain of hundreds of people appeared in the area that started in front of the White House and extended to 17th Street, carrying a red ribbon, reminding Biden of his “red line regarding Gaza.”
The demonstration, in which police took tight security measures and closed several streets in the area to traffic, was described as the busiest demonstration on Gaza in Washington in recent times.
