Crises continue to haunt the Paris 2024 Olympic Games less than a week before they start, with the participation of more than 10,000 athletes.
French authorities have decided to withdraw bottles of mineral water bearing the Paris 2024 Olympics brand, due to their high levels of bisphenol A, a substance that causes endocrine disruption.
The vials, made by French company Vilac, contained amounts of the chemical "not in compliance with regulations," the government website Rapel Conso said.
The bottles, which were sold in France from late August to early June, are no longer available on the company's online store.
France banned bisphenol A in 2015, citing its links to health problems including breast cancer and infertility.
Company representatives were not available for comment outside business hours, while Olympic organizers could not say how many bottles had been recalled.
The recent period has witnessed the emergence of many problems that preceded the "Paris 2024 Olympics" events, which will start on July 24, two days before the official opening ceremony, and will continue until August 11, including the problem of transportation and communication, the problem of toilets in the opening ceremony boats, in addition to problems securing sports delegations and fans, and others.
