Jakarta - Ionna, an electric vehicle (EV) charging joint venture formed by eight global automotive manufacturers, announced on Wednesday (5/2) that it has officially moved from the public beta phase to a national launch in the United States (US).

The joint venture, which involves Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Corp., BMW, General Motors, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Toyota, celebrated the achievement by holding an opening ceremony at its headquarters in Durham, North Carolina, United States.

Ionna has begun operations at several new charging locations, including in Houston, Texas, and Abilene, Kansas, with six more charging stations under construction..
