Jakarta - Liverpool manager Arne Slot said Mohamed Salah would have a greater chance of winning the Ballon d'Or if the Reds won the league this season.
"It's good that Mo is in the conversation (about the Ballon d'Or) because it means he's doing well, and it means we're doing well," Slot told Liverpool's website in Jakarta on Tuesday.
"But for him, to stay in that discussion, he needs to produce the same performances as he has done in the last seven or eight months. And I think, in general, the people who win the Ballon d'Or need to win something, so it's a big challenge for us, not just for him," he added.
The 32-year-old has emerged as one of the favourites to win the Ballon d'Or, given his performances this season.
The Egyptian is yet to sign a new deal after his current deal expires at the end of the season. He has scored 30 goals and provided 21 assists in all competitions this season.
