The Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation installed heavy equipment to ensure the walls used for the 2025 Rock Climbing World Cup are stable from wind movements.
"In total, there are 82 tons of ballast that we installed on the two walls," said Head of the Jury Bureau and FPTI Track Maker Andi Saputro in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday.
According to him, the committee considered all factors, including nature, when building the rock climbing facility.
Two rock climbing wall buildings were built in the Peninsula Island tourist area in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, which faces Nusa Dua Beach.
He expects friendly weather during the construction process until the tournament starts on May 2-4, 2025.
Hot temperatures are expected to be a challenge for athletes, especially those from Europe.
The construction of two rock climbing walls has been underway since before the Eid holiday, which has now reached 80 percent and is targeted to be completed before the feasibility test this Sunday.
