Government strengthens support for women MSME entrepreneurs.

Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman emphasized the government's commitment to advancing MSME entrepreneurs managed by women.

The affirmation was realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Menteri PPPA) Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, in Jakarta, Monday.

In his press release, Minister Maman revealed that around 64 percent of MSMEs in Indonesia are currently managed by women.

"This is a real economic force, which we need to continue to support and develop," he said.

He added that this condition shows the significant role of women in creating jobs from home, empowering themselves to increase family income, and contributing to an inclusive and sustainable economy.

Maman also explained various government policies that support women entrepreneurs, including ease of licensing through the Online Single Submission (OSS), allocation of 30 percent of public space for MSMEs, and the obligation to allocate 40 percent of government and BUMN spending for MSME products.
