Hamas denies receiving new proposals regarding a ceasefire or prisoner exchange deal

A leading Hamas source confirmed in a press briefing on Saturday that the movement has not received any new ideas or proposals regarding a ceasefire or resuming the prisoner exchange deal between the resistance and Israel.

The source indicated that a delegation from the movement's leadership will arrive in Cairo today to hear proposals and ideas put forward by the Egyptian side. He expressed hope that the meetings will result in a genuine breakthrough that will pave the way for an end to the war and ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

He explained that everything being circulated in the Israeli media so far regarding progress in the exchange deal is nothing more than a deceptive attempt at media hype to mislead the families of Israeli prisoners held by the resistance.

The same source affirmed "the resistance's commitment to the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement signed last January, stressing the need to complete the implementation of all its phases and provisions."

In conclusion, the leader called on mediators and guarantors to pressure Israel to commit to implementing the terms of the agreement after his reversal.

In the same vein, US President Donald Trump previously said that the United States was close to returning Israeli prisoners in Gaza and was communicating with both Israel and Hamas.

US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, informed the families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza that  a "comprehensive and serious deal" for the release of the prisoners was on the horizon , and that the matter was now a matter of "a few days."

Israel's Kan radio also revealed that draft documents were exchanged between Israel and Egypt regarding a possible ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
