Jakarta - Manchester City coach Josep "Pep" Guardiola is reluctant to be concerned about the goalless draw from the match against Manchester United (MU) in the 2024-2025 Premier League, Sunday (6/4) and wants his team to focus on the next match.
"We have got points and we will move forward," Pep Guardiola was quoted as saying on Manchester City's official website in Jakarta, Monday.
The Spanish coach assessed that his team had tried their best to control the game, but their efforts were thwarted by the Red Devils who were very dangerous when in transition on the counter-attack.
"We tried to play by building attacks, making good crosses and trying to control the game. But they (MU-ed) were able to close the gaps and were very dangerous during transitions," said the former Barcelona coach.
Pep also promised to evaluate the playing style of Erling Haaland and his friends who this season have often lost the tempo of the game and determination so that they cannot achieve maximum results in every match.
Currently, the main target of The Citizens , Manchester City's nickname, is to secure a ticket to the 2025-2026 Champions League season.
This draw leaves Manchester City temporarily stuck in fifth place with 52 points from 31 matches or one point behind Chelsea who are in fourth place and the lowest position to enter the Champions League zone.
