The Fatwa Secretary of the Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa: The call for armed jihad was issued by non-specialists looking for a trend

Dr. Khaled Omran, Fatwa Secretary at Dar Al-Iftaa, said that non-experts looking for trends have issued a statement calling for what they call "armed jihad."

Dr. Khaled Omran added, during a phone call to the "Hadrat Al-Mowaten" program on Al-Hadath Al-Youm channel on Monday evening, that this call for fighting was issued in an unorganized manner, noting that those issuing it claim to support the Palestinian cause.

He explained that Gaza is under siege and what is happening there is a stain of shame and disgrace on the brow of humanity, in light of the suffering of the Palestinian people, which everyone feels, according to what was reported by the Egyptian website "Al-Shorouk" .

He warned that some were exploiting this situation to create uncontrolled chaos, stressing that jihad is a legitimate endeavor with its own pillars, controls, and conditions.

He pointed out that no one has the right to issue a fatwa on jihad, especially since there are specialized bodies that handle such matters. He noted that attacking this matter constitutes a violation of Islamic legal guidelines.

He stated that the Palestinian people have legitimate rights and that interaction with them should be as much as possible, such as denouncing displacement and land confiscation through social media.

He stressed that the declaration of jihad is a reprehensible call issued by parties that do not have legitimate authority and do not represent Muslims.

Dar al-Iftaa responds to fatwas mandating armed jihad against Israel
On Monday, Dar al-Ifta responded to fatwas calling for armed jihad against Israel for every Muslim.

In a statement, the Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa said: "The Egyptian Dar al-Ifta has reviewed recent calls for armed jihad against the Israeli occupation by every Muslim, and calls on Islamic countries to immediately intervene militarily and impose a counter-blockade."

She added: "In the context of our religious responsibility, and based on the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and the foundations of Islamic law, Dar al-Ifta affirms that jihad is a precise religious concept with clear and legally defined conditions, pillars, and objectives. No single entity or group has the right to issue fatwas on these delicate and sensitive matters, in a manner that contravenes the principles of Islamic law and its lofty objectives, and that endangers the security of societies and the stability of Islamic countries."

She stressed that supporting the Palestinian people in their legitimate rights is a religious, humanitarian, and moral duty, but only if the support is within the framework of what serves the Palestinian people's interests, and not to serve specific agendas or ill-advised adventures that would bring further destruction, displacement, and disaster upon the Palestinians themselves.
