"During a complex ambush, Qassam fighters managed to target a Zionist infantry engineering force with an anti-personnel missile," the Qassam Brigades said in a statement on Telegram.
"Then we engaged them (the force) from point zero with machine guns, killing and wounding members of the force. After that, our fighters were able to target two Zionist tanks and a military bulldozer with 105-mm Al-Yassin missiles near the separation fence in the Al-Farahin area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip," the statement said.
On Sunday, the Qassam Brigades announced the detonation of an anti-personnel bomb targeting an Israeli infantry force east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, on Saturday, killing and wounding two Israeli soldiers.
On the same day, the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of an Israeli officer and soldier, and the serious and moderate wounding of others in a battle in Rafah. The Israeli occupation army also announced on Monday the death of a soldier in an "operational vehicle accident" near the Gaza Strip.
"Sergeant First Class (Reserve) Degen Daniel Sahalo, 41, of the Combat Engineering Corps, was killed in an operational traffic accident in the Gaza perimeter area," the army said in a statement.
According to Israeli military data, 854 Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, including 413 in ground combat.
Data indicates that 5,846 officers and soldiers have been injured since the beginning of the war, including 2,641 in ground combat.
This data includes officers and soldiers killed and wounded in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Israel, but does not include police and intelligence personnel.
