Al-Qassam Brigades broadcasts a video of two prisoners, one of whom tried to "harm himself." His father calls for confronting Netanyahu.

One of the prisoners said in the video, which was broadcast by Al-Qassam Brigades via Telegram: "I would like to remind you that I am prisoner number 21, and this prisoner sleeping next to me is number 22. I do not want to talk about myself, but rather about his condition, as he is suffering from a very difficult health and psychological condition."

He added, "Since we heard that the war had been going on for months, we realized how dangerous this was to our lives, and since then, my colleague has not stopped harming himself."

The prisoner continued: "We have lost our world and lost hope. A few days ago, my colleague tried to harm himself, so I and a Qassam fighter intervened to help him and stop him. As a result, he tried to harm us as well."

He explained that the prisoners' lives have become "critical," adding: "Every minute here is critical, to the point that we cannot sleep."

He also noted that prisoner No. 22 "is unwilling to eat or drink, even though the amount we have available is very small in this terrible reality."

Commenting on the video, the father of the prisoner who appeared in the clip, on Saturday, called on the Israelis to confront the government of (Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu and force it to stop the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip in order to release the prisoners.

Avi Haim, the father of Israeli prisoner Yosef Haim in the Gaza Strip, said, "The country's internal problems have distracted attention from the issue of the detainees."

In statements to the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority, he called for "an immediate confrontation with the government to force it to stop the war in the Gaza Strip in order to release the prisoners." He said, "I feel that public attention has been diverted from the issue of the prisoners."

He added, "All the internal problems currently occurring, such as the dismissal of the Shin Bet chief and the attorney general, are making us forget the prisoners in Gaza," calling for "confronting the government and forcing it to stop the war."

The Al-Qassam Brigades have repeatedly warned in previous statements against Israel's procrastination in resuming the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the risks it poses to the lives of prisoners due to Israel's deliberate bombing of the sites where they are located.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 59 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, 21 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, more than 9,500 Palestinians are languishing in its prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect, many of whom have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 171,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
