Dewa United midfielder Alexis Messidoro has ambitions to bring Dewa United to compete in the Asian competition next season by finishing the Indonesian League 1 competition in second place.
Quoted from the official Indonesian League website, Wednesday, Messidoro explained that there are still matches to be played to secure second place at the end of the Indonesian League 1 competition this season.
"There are still two finals. We will try our best. This is important, not only for the players, but also for Dewa United," said Messidoro.
PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has announced the ticket quota for Indonesian clubs in the Asian competition next season and one ticket is available for each. Namely the AFC Champions League (ACL) 2 play-off ticket and the AFC Challenge League (ACGL) play-off for the 2025/26 season.
Tickets to appear in the ACL 2 play-offs have been confirmed to belong to Persib Bandung who managed to become champions, while ACGL tickets will be given to the second place team in Liga 1 Indonesia.
Currently, Dewa United has the opportunity to secure the ticket because it is currently ranked second in the Indonesian League 1 standings with 57 points from 32 matches.
Dewa United need five points from their remaining two games to seal a place in next season's Asian competition without worrying about the results of their rivals.
The squad coached by Jan Olde Riekerink faces competition to secure second place from three other teams that so far mathematically still have a chance, namely Persebaya Surabaya, Malut United and Borneo FC.
Next, in the remaining two matches, Dewa United is scheduled to face Persis Solo and PSBS Biak, but Messidoro is quite confident that his team can achieve maximum results.
