Ciro Alves is confirmed to be absent from defending Persib Bandung until the end of the season.

Persib Bandung striker Ciro Alves is confirmed to be absent from strengthening his team until the end of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 season following additional sanctions imposed by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee in the form of a ban on playing in two matches and a fine of IDR 10 million.

This punishment was the result of an elbowing incident carried out by Ciro against a Malut United player in the 31st week of Liga 1 at the Kie Raha Stadium, Tidore, on May 2, 2025, which resulted in a direct red card for the Brazilian player.

"Ciro Henrique Alves Ferreira E Silva has been given an additional penalty of a two-match playing ban since this decision was issued and will apply to the next match," reads a quote from the PSSI Disciplinary Committee's decision received in Bandung, Tuesday.

The decision of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee is stated in an official document numbered 159/L1/SK/KD-PSSI/V/2025 which was signed by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Eko Hendro Prasetyo, SH, MH, on May 8, 2025.

In the copy of the decision it is stated that the punishment was imposed based on Article 49 paragraph 1 letter (d) and paragraph 2 of the 2023 PSSI Disciplinary Code.

Thus, after being absent in the match against Barito Putera on May 9, 2025, Ciro Alves is also confirmed not to appear in the last two matches of the season against Persita Tangerang and Persis Solo.

Responding to this, Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, Adhitia Putra Herawan, stated that his party regretted the decision because Ciro's presence was greatly needed in crucial moments at the end of the season.

"However, as a professional club, Persib always respects and complies with every decision issued by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee," said Adhitia in his official statement.
