The eldest son of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., was officially called up to the Portugal U-15 national team squad for the first time.
The 14-year-old is on the list of players who will appear at the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament in Croatia, from May 13 to 18, as quoted by The Athletic, Wednesday.
Cristiano Jr. is currently registered as part of the Al Nassr academy, a Saudi Arabian club that his father also played for. Previously, he had undergone training at the academies of two of Ronaldo's former senior clubs, namely Manchester United and Juventus.
The Vlatko Markovic tournament will see Portugal U-15 face off against Japan, Greece, England and one other invited team in an event that will be a showcase for young European and Asian players.
Cristiano Ronaldo, 40, is Portugal's all-time leading scorer with 136 goals in 219 appearances. He last played for Portugal in March as his country beat Denmark to secure a place in the 2025 UEFA Nations League semi-finals.
Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United. Since joining the Saudi Arabian club, he has successfully presented the Arab Club Champions Cup title, and continues to show his sharpness even though he has entered his forties.
Ronaldo has five children, and Cristiano Jr. is the first of the former United star to enter professional football.
