Eliano Reijnders is confirmed to be absent from strengthening the Indonesian national team in the next two matches of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian Zone Group C against China and Japan.
The PEC Zwolle player chose to stay with his family who are awaiting the birth of their child.
"We fully support Eliano to accompany his family in this important and happy moment. Family is the top priority," said Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert, quoted from the kitagaruda.id page.
Eliano expressed his gratitude for the understanding given to him.
"Thank you for the understanding and support from all football fans in the country. I also hope the national team can give the best results in the match next June," said the 24-year-old player.
The Indonesian national team will host China at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta on June 5 at 20.45 WIB.
Five days later, the Garuda squad visited Japan to face the hosts at the Suita Football City Stadium, Osaka on June 10 at 17.35 WIB.
Eliano Reijnders made his debut with the Indonesian national team against Bahrain on October 10, 2024.
He also appeared in the last two matches, namely against Australia and Bahrain in March 2025.
