Ahead of the Google Cloud Summit Jakarta 2025 on May 22, Google Cloud announced that it has expanded the computing capacity of the Jakarta Cloud Region to facilitate access to cloud-based enterprise AI capabilities.
Based on a press release received on Thursday, this expansion is Google Cloud's contribution to driving new competitive advantages, increasing workforce productivity, and improving the quality of public services.
"Google Cloud's Jakarta Cloud Region supports many critical services for organizations in Indonesia, from Bio Farma's vaccine research and development, the learning and teaching experience by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), to digital banking, e-commerce, food delivery services, remote work, and more," said Country Director, Google Cloud Indonesia, Fanly Tanto.
Jakarta Cloud Region serves as a gateway for organizations in Indonesia to Google Cloud platforms such as BigQuery and Vertex AI. Expanding access to these software tools is needed for organizations to build and deploy generative and agentic AI with over 200 types and sizes of industry-leading AI models.
