Indonesian House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani said that she would ask law enforcement officers regarding the alleged intimidation received by three students of the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia.
"We will ask law enforcement officers about who then intimidated, on what basis they were intimidated, and why it happened," said Puan when giving a statement after meeting Prime Minister (PM) Li Qiang at the parliament complex, Senayan.
Puan explained that she took this step as the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives because she had only just found out about it from journalists.
"I also just found out about this from the media. However, if that is the case, then we will see whether it is (meant, ed.) intimidating," he explained.
Previously, three UII FH students who were applicants for a formal review of Law Number 3 of 2025 concerning the Indonesian National Army (UU TNI) were suspected of experiencing intimidation after being approached by unknown persons.
