The Ministry of Communication and Digital has expressed its commitment to supporting the acceleration of digital transformation in the archiving sector.
As quoted in the ministry's press Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria conveyed the importance of digitalization in managing state archives.
"I think the power of archives is very important for knowledge and also the practice of policy-making from the perspective of government, academics, and national figures, in addition to being a heritage of historical value," he said.
In a meeting with the Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) Mego Pinandhito at the Kemkomdigi Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (14/5), Nezar stated the importance of archives in the policy formulation process in developed countries.
"They always use the power of archives so that the policy is always historical. They know what their past mistakes were, their shortcomings, and the strength of the decisions taken in the past, so they can always move forward in making policies," he explained.
