Persebaya lost to Bali United due to its own mistakes.

Persebaya Surabaya assistant coach Uston Nawawi admitted that the 1-3 defeat suffered when hosting Bali United with a score of 1-3 in the final match of the 2024/25 Indonesian League 1 was due to mistakes made by the Bajol Ijo players themselves.

"We already know how Bali United plays, but (this defeat) was from our own mistakes. We also created many opportunities. In football, playing well is not enough," said Uston in a press conference after the match at the Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) Stadium in Surabaya, East Java, Friday night.

Uston was disappointed that Persebaya failed to deliver a win in the final match of the season, which was also a farewell moment for midfielder Muhammad Hidayat.

However, he still appreciates the players who have tried their best to achieve the best results against Bali United.

Uston also highlighted the brilliant performance of Bali United goalkeeper Adilson Maringa, who he said was one of the keys to the away team's victory.

"We have to admit, we created many chances but still hit, not the goalpost, but Maringa. Thumbs up, he made it difficult for us to score," said the former Indonesian National Team midfielder.
