Rashida Tlaib accuses Washington of complicity in "genocide" against Palestinians

This came in a post she posted on the X platform yesterday, Monday, in which she expressed her dismay at Israel's plan to expand its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Tlaib emphasized that Israel has continued to block the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza for 64 days. She added, "The war criminal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has announced his plan to forcibly expel the entire Palestinian population, carry out ethnic cleansing, destroy Gaza, and annex it."

On Monday evening, Netanyahu announced in a televised address that the security cabinet had approved, during a lengthy meeting on Sunday, an expansion of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, indicating a determination to reoccupy the besieged enclave.

Netanyahu's statement comes amid growing international warnings of an impending humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, due to the severe blockade and ongoing genocide for more than 19 months. This has resulted in the deaths and injuries of more than 171,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to more than 11,000 missing.

For his part, Israeli army spokesman Avi Deveren said that the new phase of the genocide in Gaza will be "more intense and intense, and will include a broad attack and the evacuation of areas of residents."
