The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) and the Australian Authorities are enhancing cooperation in the field of fisheries surveillance through the 24th Indonesia-Australia Fisheries Surveillance Forum (IAFSF) meeting, which was held in Jakarta.

"This annual forum discusses and determines concrete steps to handle illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUUF) practices in the exclusive economic zones (EEZ) of both countries," said the Director General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Pung Nugroho Saksono (Ipunk) in a statement confirmed.

He said that there were several things discussed at the 24th IAFSF, starting from the evaluation of the implementation of performance in 2024 to the work program in 2025.

He said that Indonesia-Australia cooperation in fisheries monitoring has an important role in maintaining the sustainability of marine resources, especially in border waters.
