Instant messaging application WhatsApp is currently recorded as being used by more than three billion people every month, said Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the company's first quarter financial report conference.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Friday, the application had two billion monthly active users in 2020, and with this latest achievement, WhatsApp is one of the few applications that has managed to surpass the three billion user mark, apart from Facebook.
This massive user base makes WhatsApp a key asset for Meta, especially as the company is betting big on its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. Meta has previously stated that WhatsApp is one of the main distribution platforms for its AI services.
