The army said in a statement that the strikes focused on missile platforms "ready to launch" toward Israel, as well as sites belonging to the Iranian armed forces. It noted that some of these platforms were used in recent missile attacks targeting Israel.
In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that Israeli airstrikes targeted the Martyr Madani barracks in Tabriz, wounding two people, without providing further details.
Early Sunday morning, the United States confirmed its direct involvement in the war, with US President Donald Trump announcing a "very successful attack" on Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, noting that US aircraft dropped "a full load of bombs" before withdrawing from Iranian airspace without incident.
Following these developments, Iran launched two missile barrages targeting multiple locations within Israel, including Greater Tel Aviv, Haifa, and the city of Ness Ziona, causing widespread destruction and sparking panic among Israelis.
Since June 13, Israel has been waging an aggression against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, military leaders, and nuclear scientists.
Tehran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones deep into Israel, in the largest direct confrontation between the two sides.
