The Israeli Regional Security Coalition placed a large banner in Tel Aviv featuring images of US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and several Arab leaders.
The banner included the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan.
The Israeli Regional Security Coalition is a political initiative comprising more than 100 former senior Israeli officials that advocates for normalization between Israel and Arab states.
The coalition said in a statement: "A new banner campaign was launched in Tel Aviv calling for seizing the historic opportunity represented by the end of the war against Iran to establish the Abraham Accords and a new Middle East." It saw that there is "a new opportunity for a new Middle East," adding: "The banner campaign aims to seize the opportunity represented by the end of the war against Iran to establish a new regional order."
He added, "The Israeli military achievement against Iran opens a window of opportunity to change the face of the Middle East and establish the Abraham Accords, a regional alliance with moderate Arab states to confront Iran, its proxies, and terrorist organizations," he said.
The coalition continued: "The most urgent step to seize this opportunity is to end the war (Israeli since October 23, 2023) in Gaza and return all the kidnapped Israelis (prisoners) held by Hamas, especially after yesterday's announcement of the tragic killing of a number of soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip."
He added, "Israel is capable of, and must, transform the military achievement achieved in the war against Iran into a political gain. There is a time for war, and there is a time for settlement. The time for the Abraham Accord has come."
On Wednesday, Steve Witkoff, the US president's special representative for the Middle East, told CNBC that Washington would soon issue a "major announcement" regarding countries joining the Abraham Accords and normalizing their relations with Israel.
Witkoff noted that with the ceasefire, the conflict that began as a result of the Israeli attack on Iran has ended, preventing it from turning into an "endless war." He explained that they will soon issue an "important announcement" regarding the countries participating in the "Abraham Accords," saying, "We expect many countries to normalize (their relations with Israel)."
In late 2020, Israel reached a set of normalization agreements with Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco, and Sudan, known as the "Abraham Accords." Several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, are demanding that the Israeli government agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, in accordance with the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, in exchange for normalizing relations with Israel.
On June 13, Israel, with US support, launched a 12-day attack on Iran, targeting military and nuclear sites, civilian facilities, and the assassination of military leaders and nuclear scientists. Iran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones.
