Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria assessed that the Large Language Model innovation that promotes various regional languages in Indonesia can be a mainstay of the growth of the digital ecosystem towards artificial intelligence (AI) sovereignty.
He highlighted the local LLM Sahabat AI that was launched yesterday. The LLM is specifically designed for Indonesian and regional languages with a model with a capacity of 70 billion parameters equipped with multilingual chat services.
"This is very important, especially since Sahabat AI is a form of LLM that tries to develop its foundation model to process data in local languages such as Sundanese and Javanese and continues to develop (other regional languages)," said Nezar in his statement.
