Drinking cold water helps lose weight



 A Harvard-educated doctor, scientist and author, Dr. William Li shared that drinking cold water can contribute to weight loss by slightly increasing calorie burning during the digestion process.

Written on the Hindustan Times page, Thursday, Li said the body's metabolism will warm the water by burning fat until it reaches body temperature.

"Because cold water, in the middle of your stomach, your core temperature, triggers your brown fat. 'Wow, it's so cold, I must be hibernating. Let's burn that brown fat.' So you're going to start burning extra body fat just by drinking cold water," he said on The Mel Robbins podcast.

Some people believe that drinking cold water is a bad habit that can harm long-term health. However, according to a Healthline.com report in March 2023, there is no evidence that drinking cold water is bad for your health.
