Fahrettin Altun: The attack on the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation embodies Israel's recklessness in the region.

Israel's targeting of journalists and civilians and its attack on an official media institution constitutes a blatant massacre," stressing that "attacks on journalists and media professionals cannot be justified under any circumstances."

Alton noted that "the Israeli administration, which has lost its character as a state due to its repeated crimes, is building thick walls between itself and lasting peace," adding that Turkey "condemns this heinous attack and offers its condolences to the Iranian people for the journalist victims." He called on the international community to take immediate action "to halt the reckless Israeli aggression that is pushing the region to the brink of explosion."

Earlier on Monday, the Israeli occupation army targeted the Iranian state television building after announcing its intention to bomb civilian sites inside Tehran. This attack is part of a broader military operation launched by Israel at dawn on Friday, with US support, targeting nuclear facilities and missile bases, and assassinating prominent military leaders and scientists in the Iranian nuclear program.

Since its launch, the Israeli airstrikes have killed 224 people and injured 1,277 others in Iran, according to state television. Tehran responded that same evening with a series of ballistic missile and drone attacks, killing 24 and wounding 592 in Israel, along with significant material damage, according to the Israeli Government Information Office.

This military escalation is the largest of its kind between Israel and Iran, and represents a shift from indirect confrontations to an open conflict between two historic enemies in the region.
