Technology company, Google, officially announced that the final version or latest version of Android 16 has been released for beta users.
The word final is not intended for users of a stable operating system but refers to the last version of the operating system that is still being tested or a beta version.
In the GSM Arena report, amidst the euphoria of gadget lovers welcoming Apple's iOS 26, Google appears undaunted and continues to make improvements to its smartphone operating system.
This final beta version is only available for supported Google Pixel phones that are running Android 15 or Android 16 beta. That means the operating system can be tried on the Pixel 6 series and later.
Meanwhile, other brands of phones should also be preparing to prepare the final update by now, considering they have followed Google with their own beta releases.
Please note that if you were previously running Android 16 QPR 1 Beta 1, you will not receive the final Android 16 as an over-the-air update.
That’s because Android 16 QPR is a quarterly release and is expected in the fall – the update will bring a major UI overhaul called Material 3 Expressive. QPR is a separate update path and is currently at Beta 1.1.
