Technology giant Google, in its latest report for 2025 discussing the company's sustainable ambitions, said the company's carbon emissions would increase by 11 percent to reach 11.5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution in 2024.
That number marks a 51 percent increase compared to 2019 and it is due to several factors beyond their control that are felt to make corporate climate goals more challenging, one of which is the evolution of AI.
In The Verge's report, Saturday (28/6), the evolution of AI that has an impact on Google's increasing carbon emissions levels occurred because of soaring energy needs, making the company's future emissions trajectory more difficult to predict.
