Iran: 19 arrested on charges of "collaborating with Israel" and "disturbing public opinion"

Security authorities in Iran have arrested 19 people on charges ranging from "collaborating with Israel" to "disturbing public opinion," amid ongoing shelling between Tehran and Tel Aviv since Friday.

Our correspondent reported that five people were arrested in the city of Yazd, central Iran, on charges of "filming sensitive sites and cooperating with Israel."

Iranian authorities arrested 14 individuals in Hormozgan Province, southeastern Iran, for inciting public opinion and spreading rumors on social media in support of Israel. The arrests were made through technical and intelligence measures.

These arrests come amid ongoing exchanges of fire between Iran and Israel, following Israel's launch of a major airstrike against Iran on Friday, targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of prominent military and security leaders and a number of nuclear scientists.

On Friday, the Israeli Mossad released a video documenting "the presence of its agents inside Iran, who have installed a base for explosive drones."

An Israeli security source described the Mossad operation as "exceptional in scope," and said the operation involved the Israeli military, the Mossad, and Israeli security industries.

In response to the Israeli attack, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks towards Israel from north to south last night and early Saturday morning.

The Iranian missile strikes killed a total of three Israelis, injured dozens, and caused massive destruction, particularly in Tel Aviv, central Israel.
