Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, announced that "limited" damage was caused to some areas of the uranium enrichment site at the Fordow facility, south of Tehran, as a result of the Israeli attack.
"A large portion of the equipment and materials had already been moved out of the facility, and there was no widespread damage," Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by the Iranian Fars News Agency.
He pointed out that there is no concern about radioactive contamination.
Fordow is a highly fortified underground facility, located near the city of Qom, south of Tehran. Its function is to enrich uranium underground.
It is built inside a mountain, making it highly fortified against air strikes.
On Friday, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that the Israeli strikes caused material damage to the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, while Israel's Channel 12 reported the destruction of the facility.
On the night of June 13, the Israeli military launched a large-scale operation called "Rising Lion," in which its warplanes struck military targets and Iranian nuclear program sites.
The Israeli Air Force carried out several waves of attacks across Iran, including Tehran, where, according to Iranian media, several senior Iranian military officials and a number of nuclear scientists were killed. The Natanz nuclear facility, an Iranian military base located in the northwest of the country, was also bombed.
For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that Tehran launched Operation "True Promise 3" in response to the Israeli strikes.
