Jayapura Navy hands over six PNG nationals to Immigration

Lantamal X Jayapura handed over six Foreign Nationals from Papua New Guinea who did not have official documents to the Class I TPI Jayapura Immigration Office to undergo further legal proceedings.

Commander of the X Jayapura Lantamal Patrol Unit, Navy Colonel Dedy Obet in Jayapura, Tuesday, said that the six PNG citizens were arrested in two different cases, namely the smuggling of 1.6 tons of Pertalite fuel oil (BBM) and 35 kg of shark fins, 1.5 kg of fish bubbles, 2.5 kg of sea cucumbers in the waters of the Jayapura Sea.

"To prevent similar things from happening, we will continue to tighten supervision and expand the scope of monitoring," he said.

According to Dedy, the supervision carried out in Jayapura sea waters is to ensure maritime security and order so as to prevent the smuggling of illegal goods.
